Here at Sunion, we believe in the importance of having a balance between environmental, economic and social aspects to build a sustainable future for generations to come. Every decision we make factors in our awareness of the impact that it could have on the surrounding ecosystem.
We use certified and recyclable raw materials for making all our packaging, while minimising the use of natural resources and promoting material recycling.
We also pay great attention to energy resources, trying to avoid any waste and implementing measures to control consumption, while making a positive contribution to protecting our region, as we not only see it as the place where we work but also as a resource to be protected and enhanced.
ISO 14001 certification is therefore only the first step in our more ambitious target process.
In fact, as far back as 2021 we launched our sustainability management project by joining the ECOVADIS platform, which means we have a report with an index that shows our sustainability rating; this information is shared with our main customers who greatly appreciate this initiative.
The target which the company set itself for 2024 is even bigger as the decision was made to certify our level of greenhouse gas emissions by joining the SBTi project, which is an acronym for: Science-Based Targets initiative.
